of OMYA dates back to 1884 in Oftringen, Switzerland.
It is the world’s largest producer of the highest quality calcium
carbonate products for food, pharmaceutical and industrial uses.
The
Superior mining operation was acquired in 1997 and the state-of-the-art
processing facility was opened in 1999. The original bulk material
is crushed and milled into various particle sizes according
to the customers needs and specifications. OMYA has the highest

is a prvately held company, owned by Mike and Gary Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. The company’s calcium carbonate products are made of marble which is metamorphosized into white limestone. Since the company’s inception in 1992, it has grown from producing one or two products to a full service company. Their product lines includes landscape stone, plaster sand, gravel and roofing products, pool sand, general use sand, texture sand, feed supplements and specialty projects. Superior Marble focuses on serving their customers effectively by concentrating on three Primary attributes: color, gradation and quality.
