Nestled at the base of Apache Leap Mountain and surrounded by the picturesque Tonto National Forest, Superior is like no other place on Earth! What makes Superior so unique is its geographic location. Situated along the "division line" of Arizona's three geophysical features, you can travel less than fifteen miles to the west of Superior and find yourself in the Arizona-Sonoran desert. Travel fifteen miles south and dive into the mineral-rich valleys and plateaus of Central Arizona. Go fifteen miles east and immerse yourself in the gateway to Arizona's majestic mountain ranges, complete with waterfalls and snow in the winter. |

August 24, 2013 the historic copper mining town of Superior hosts the second annual prickly pear festival featuring a morning “how to pick and juice ‘em” class by Jean Groen. Additionally, visitors to the festival can enjoy other free experiences from a number of ‘all things prickly pear’ vendors.

This is an ongoing effort to enhance the appearance of our town. Pots of flowers will be placed in front of businesses on Main St., Hwy 60 and throughout the town. The Chamber will plant flowers in the pots and maintain them, and the business owners will water the flowers. People and businesses can “Adopt a Pot” for $35.00. A sign will be placed in each pot with the donor’s name, and the wording is up to you. You may want it be your family name, business name, in honor of someone, or in memory of a loved one.
This fund raising event is made possible by the Modern Woodmen, who contribute to many beautification projects. Our goal is to raise $2,500 and they will match that amount. This will give us enough to plant and maintain about 60 pots! For more information please call Sue at 602-625-3151 or stop by Dalton Realty or the Copper Gecko. Mail checks to the Superior Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 95, Superior, AZ 85173.
